BECOME A VOLUNTEER TRAPPER!
NCA trapping volunteers are some of the hardest working people around! Without a dedicated, committed, hard-working group of trapping volunteers, we couldn't do what we do!
It isn't easy. It's a big time commitment, has some requirements, and is hard work. But there is no way to put a value on the difference that we're making in the lives of cats that we help!

Trapping Volunteer Requirements
- A reliable vehicle big enough to carry at least one (but hopefully more) cat traps, pictured here. The dimensions are 36" long, 14" tall and 12" wide.
- The physical ability to lift and carry a trapped cat, up to 20 lbs.
- Enough time to commit to trapping at least a few days a month.
- Volunteers aren't reimbursed for mileage costs.
WHY VOLUNTEER?
Most importantly - the knowledge that you are helping and improving the lives of thousands of cats. For female cats, they won't have to deliver two, sometimes three litters of kittens a year and try to find enough food to sustain all of them, then see half of their kittens die before they are 1 year old.
For the males, they won't want to travel for miles to find a female in heat, which will reduce their chances of being hit by a car or not being able to find their way back to the area that they consider home. They'll also fight less with other males over their territory, and spray less which will make humans more likely to be okay with having them around.
If you are a cat lover and want to help our community, this is one of the most rewarding and effective ways to help!

- You'll get training from some of the most expert cat trappers around! And when you need help, full support from other NCA volunteer trappers. None of us could do this alone!
- You'll meet and work with some of the most amazing animal advocates in town. We are an amazing group of people who care about and watch out for each other as well as the cats.
- Although it is a big time commitment, some of our trapping volunteers have full time jobs - don't let that deter you! Other trapping volunteers are retired or not currently working full time.
